This vehicle actually exists and was photographed at a GM facility in Michigan. GM had it painfully restored to its' original condition, which was to be on duty as an active part of the GM fire department. Although GM built the chassis and cab, General Fire Truck Corp. of Detroit did the actual construction of the balance of what you see here. This was normal policy, as fire vehicles were custom designed with specific features for each locality where they would be used. There are other models on this cab and chassis that have actually 4- doors, 2-doors and enclosed cabs, depending on the purchasers' needs. This model is full equipped with a Federal Signal rotating beacon, ladders, hoses, hand extinguishers and CO2 suppression for chemical fires.
