The Buick Skylark Gran Sport began as an option package for the Skylark in 1965 but quickly emerged as a muscle car force all its own. With sporty eye candy that included fake air scoops, a blacked-out grille and side-striping, the car had the looks to go with its high horsepower engine! The beefy 400 cid V8 powerplant cranked out 340 horsepower and Buick dropped the Gran Sport name tag in favor of GS400 to honor the engines superior performance.
The '67 GS-400 did much to establish Buick as not only a maker of family cars but also a strong player in the muscle car market.
