The '69 Shelby GT500 represented the last full production year of the illustrious line of Shelby Mustangs, as '70s models were actually left-over '69s with stripes and a front spoiler, but the model did its best to assure that while it might be gone, it wouldn't be forgotten. Under the exclusive five-scooped hood the 428 Cobra Jet engine utilized finned-aluminum Cobra valve covers and intake manifold along with a ram-induction air cleaner and Holley four-barrel to clock 0-60 mph in 5.5 seconds, and the 1/4 mile in 12.8 seconds. The era may have ended, but the legend lived on!
