In '64, Bud Faubel entered this famous "Honker" Dodge from the Shively Motors Dealership in chambersburg, Pa. into competition and quickly became one of the most feared Mopar drivers in the country. This '64 Dodge was one of the first Dodge Team cars and with Bud driving, it was a consistant winner and a NHRA natioanlo record holder in Super Stock Automatic. he car ran in the low 11 seconds and over 125 mph, it was, according to Bud the first Hemi drag car with an automatic transmission. With bill Jenkins preping the car, it was runner up at the '64 Nationals to Jim Thornton's Ramchargers. Bud and his "Honker" series went on to rack up over 200 wins, set 14 track records, set two national records and he was "Mr. Stock Eliminator" and Driver of the Year before being inducted into the NHRA Northeast Divisoin's Drag Racing Hall of Fame.
