VW Nardo Show Car - Orange (MotorMax) 1/18
EASY ORDER INFO HERE Would you believe an exotic sports car under the Volkswagen badge? The W12 Coupe is just that, and more. On October 14, 2001, at the Nardo test track,
a black carbon-fiber-body W12 was used to break the world speed record for distance covered in 24 hours. With a top speed of 217 mph, Volkswagen
claims to have broken 2 other world speed records and six international vehicle class speed records. Although the Coupe dressed for public scrutiny
included leather seats, air conditioning, GPS Navigation and a mobile phone, this is definitely a racecar. What is most important to this vehicle is the W12
engine that displaces 6.0 liters and makes 600 horsepower at 7,000 RPM. Although the Coupe is not in production at this time, the engine has been, and
detuned for the super luxury 2003 Phaeton, and is already available in the Audi 8. The W12 will be the fastest production car of its day when it goes on
sale, and shall likely prove to handle and perform better than any comparable product on the market. Maybe with this car, Volkswagen will start to get respect in the super car world.
